LWC Volleyball defeats Indiana University SE, 3-1 at Biggers ColumbiaMagazine.com SPORTS Team plays in Papa John's Invitational this afternoon By Chris Wells, LWC Sports Information Director The Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team snapped its two game losing streak with a 3-1 win over Indiana University (Ind.) Southeast on Thursday night at Biggers Sports Center. The Blue Raiders now stand at 15-5 on the season and 5-2 at home with the 21-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-13 win. Lindsey Wilson was slow out of the gates allowing Indiana University Southeast (5-12) to steal the first game. The Blue Raiders bounced back quickly, winning the next three games to take the match. Junior setter Sarah Kline led the Blue Raiders with 48 assists on the night. Kline has 2,107 career assists, good for third on the all-time list. A pair of Lindsey Wilson freshman led the Blue Raiders in kills, Mirjam Pfyl had 25 for the match and Sophie Altermatt added 13. Freshman Rachael Anderson recorded 17 digs, bringing her team leading total to 366. Freshman Katharina Nobel recorded 14 kills, three aces, three digs and two blocks. Lindsey Wilson Volleyball returns to action on Friday, October 10, 2008, as the Blue Raiders travel to Mt. Vernon, OH for the Mt. Nazarene University Papa Johns Invitational.
