LWC Soccer Women are No. 1 in nation! ColumbiaMagazine.com SPORTS By Chris Wells, LWC Sports Information Director The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team is ranked No. 1 in the latest NAIA National Coaches' Poll released on Tuesday, October 7. Lindsey Wilson received 661 points and 14 first place votes. The Blue Raiders currently stand at 8-1. Lee (TN) University defeated the previous No. 1 team, Martin (TN) Methodist College on Saturday. Lee received 659 points to come in just behind Lindsey Wilson for No. 2. Azusa Pacific (CA) University is No. 3 with 640 points and Martin Methodist is No. 4 with 631 points. Lindsey Wilson defeated No. 10 Berry (GA) College on Friday 3-1 for its third straight games. The Blue Raiders beat Pikeville (KY) College 13-0 last Tuesday. Sophomore midfielder Kimmia Parker and freshman forward Louise Christensen lead the Blue Raiders with 20 points each. Parker is tied with sophomore midfielder Anne Houliston for the team lead with eight goals each. Junior goalkeeper Carrie Revlett is 8-1 on the season with a goals against average of 0.67. Revlett has recorded two shutouts this season. The NAIA National Coaches' Poll is voted on by the 24 conference, independent and unaffiliated group raters.
