SOUTH 61 ISSUE: John BAM Carney says situation is a shame To ColumbiaMagazine.com: I have followed the comments of all sides on the cancellation of the KY 61 project, which would have completed the Adair County road to from the parkway to Sparksville. It is a shame that this happened, especially after all the millions of dollars were spent on land purchases and design of the highway. Basically this shows why people have lost confidence in government. It's time to put partisanship aside and see that this road is built, not just for the economies of Adair and Taylor County, but for the many who would use the road as a shorter and safer route from Chattanooga to Elizabethtown.
