ACHS Marching Band takes third Grand Championship for 2008 Story in progress; photos are being added. The results are now posted at Eagle Classic. Adair County Marching Band was the Grand Champion, with an overall score of 86.60. Second place went to Washington County High School, with a score of 82.05. The Adair County Marching Band has now won it's third straight Grand Championship of the 2008 Season. Last night, Tim Allen's pheonomenal performers won the Grand Champions at the Eagle Classic at Eastern High School in Middletown, Louisville, KY. After preliminary competition Adair County had the highest score overall and 1st Place in Class AAA, as well as Best Percussion Overall, and Best Color Guard in Class AAA. Percussion section leaders are Joseph Payne and Will Loy. The Color Guard Captain is Megan Keltner. Co-Captains are Olivia Murrell, Kacy Wilson, and Lindsay Corbin. Sergeants are Kristy Blackaby and Jessica Young. Field Commander is Kacey Feese. Flute soloist is Heather Jasper. The Band also received the award for Best Music Overall and a Distinguished Rating. Victories this year include:
Twenty-two bands from Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, Missouri, and Georgia will be competing on the campus of Murray State University. Photos, complete results, and links from yesterday will be posted as received.
