On Saturday, I loaded up Sheila (the wife) and my son Wichita for the short trek to Liberty, KY. We took my 1976 Mercury Monarch for this fantastic voyage. As we neared Casey County our senses detected the sweet aroma of apple pie.

The streets of Liberty were filled with booths offering food, novelties, and any other yard sale item that you could imagine. We had a great time walking amongst the many people that had traveled to Liberty's 200th birthday bash!

Later in the afternoon, Ronnie McDowell arrived and Sheila, and I had the opportunity to have a conversation with him. He is really a super guy.

He has a lot of respect for his fans, which is something that a lot of entertainers do not have today. Ronnie opened the show with his signature tune "Older women are beautiful lovers" which drew a roaring applause from the many people gathered together for his show.

Ronnie made time to honor a couple who had been married for 51 years, as he sang a duet with them to celebrate this joyous moment. Ronnie put on a terrific show, which left many fans in awe of his spectacular showmanship.
