Black Lions get together in Kokomo, Cane Valley By Joe Hare Dale Carry, Ron Moreno and Joe Hare got together in Seattle, WA, in July 2007, for the first time since they were together in B Co., 2nd/28th Infantry is South Vietnam, in 1967. These three were visiting with each other, along with their wives, in September of 2008, in Kentucky. On Saturday, September 20, 2008, they went to Kokomo, IN, for the 26th annual Howard County Vietnam Veterans Reunion. They were joined there by Tim Hogan, a long time visitor to the Kokomo Reunion and by Joe Karczynski and Larry Thompson, who had not seen any of the other B Company Black Lions since they left Vietnam 41 years ago. Tuck Howard and Tom Colburn were D Company Black Lions during the same time period and put up the "Black Lions Camp", there at Kokomo each year, along with other members of the Paintsville Veterans Referral Center, all volunteers. Dale Carry provided the Black Lion Flag and asked that all the B Company members sign it and it be presented to the Black Lions Camp, "to fly there so that all those signers would be there whether physically present or not." It was great to see all the guys and we were all please that Larry and Joe "Ski" joined us this yea This story was posted on 2008-09-27 16:17:53
