Letter: from Agape House, September 2008

Cathy Petrey, R.N. joins staff of Agape House

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

We are back up and running after the fire that took our facility back in July of this year. Through the remainder of September we will only be open on Fridays from 11-5. Starting October 1st we will be open Monday through Friday from 9 to 5. We would like to say one more time how much we appreciate all that our community has done to support us. God is truly good and will provide in the face of adversity.

Our new Fabulous Fifty Club is starting off with a bang. Our goal is to get fifty people to sponsor ten dollars a month for total revenue of 500 dollars, which will almost cover our entire administrative costs per month.

We also have a new program starting called our "Best Buddies" group. Best Buddies is for parents and their children aged 0-5. We will have an organizational meeting on September 26th at 10:00 A.M. at the Agape House. If you can not attend but still want to participate please call or email us and we will work with your schedule. We encourage parents of special needs children to attend, as we want to encourage the participation of children with learning or physical disabilities.

Agape House is growing rapidly and we have many more projects coming up. Excitement grows here at Agape House as we continue to grow. We would like to welcome Catherine Petrey, R.N. to our Board of Directors. Catherine has been an R.N. for many years. She and her husband Tim along with their children live in the Breeding community of Adair County. Welcome to our family Cathy!

We would like to remind our supporters and the members of our community that we do not receive any government funding, and though we are looking into faith based grants we have not yet been awarded any grants.

If you would like to contact us please call (270) 634-3556 or email agapehouse@duo-county.com.
