ACHS is Grand Champion at Caverna Marching Band Festival

In its first competition event, the the 2009 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Bound Adair County High School Marching Band lived up to expections with their first competition for 2008 at the Caverna Marching Band Festival in Horse Cave, Kentucky on Saturday, September 6, 2008.

Performing its 2008 program "Supernatural," the band won was Grand Champion of the event, and in so doing were nine points of ahead of the next best score of any band at the event.



The Grand Championship was won in competitition Central Hardin, Edmonson County, Glasgow, Hopkins Co. Central, Meade County, Metcalfe County, Monroe County, Warren East,

In addition to the Grand Campionship, the band brought these awards back to Columbia:
  • First Place, Class AAA

  • Best Color Guard Class AAA

  • Best Percussion Class AAA

  • Distinguished Rating

  • Best Overall Color Guard

  • Best Overall Percussion

The band is under the direction of Mr. Tim Allen. His assistant is Mr. Matt Emerson.
