Obituary: William Huddleton, 84, retired rural mail carrier

Mr. Huddleston was a member of an influential and respected family of South Adair County. He was a deacon in Beech Grove Separate Baptist Church, and was a rural mail carrier for over 20 years

William Huddleston, 84, 6675 Highway 55 South, Glens Fork, KY,passed away Thursday, August 29, 2008 at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY after several months illness.

The funeral service will be Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Rev. Hershey Giles the officiating clergy.



He was the son of the late Herbert and Bertha Grant Huddleston of Adair Co., KY

He is survived by his wife; Jewell Blair Huddleston of Glens Fork, KY and the following:
  • Four sisters: Kathlene Powell of Glens Fork, KY; Maxine Dykes of Glens Fork, KY; Ernestine Bryson of Columbia, KY; and Nadine Scott of Columbia, KY

  • Survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of friends

  • And by special friends: Bradley and Joyce Bradshaw of Glens Fork, KY andHershey and Sue Giles of Knifley, KY
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ben Huddleston, and one sister, Christine Andrew.

Mr. Huddleston was a rural mail carrier for over 20 years and a member of theBeech Grove Baptist Church where he served as deacon for several years.

Interment in the Haven Hill Cemetery, LIberty Road, Columbia, KY.

The family request visitation after 4:00 PM on Saturday at Stotts-Phelps-McQuearyFuneral Home.
