CU names Columbian Brandon Thompson to admissions post New Out-of-State and International Admissions Counselor is 2004 LWC grad and graduate of Cumberland County High School, Burkesville, KY By Christina Miller, CU student news writer Brandon Thompson of Columbia, KY, has been employed as out-of-state and international admissions counselor in the Campbellsville University's Office of Admissions, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University. Thompson graduated from Lindsey Wilson College in 2004 with a bachelor of arts in Christian ministries, as well as an associate degree in social science. He is also a 2000 graduate of Cumberland County High School. From 2005 to 2008, Thompson served as an assistant department manager at Lowe's in Campbellsville. Thompson's goal in admissions is "to effectively represent Campbellsville University, and in the process Jesus Christ." Thompson also believes it is vitally important that students find the school where God wants them to be so that they can be who He wants them to be and achieve their maximum potential. He said, "It's my aim to help each one find that place. "I know that I'm not here by accident, and so I feel that I can help students find their place and understand the importance of being where God wants them to be as well. "I'm excited to be a part of this growing institution that I believe has its greatest days still ahead." Thompson plans to start graduate school in the spring after he gets settled in the Office of Admissions. Thompson and his wife, Tiffany Parnell Thompson, do not have any children, but he said, for now their dog is "good enough." Thompson is the son of Jeff and Lisa Thompson of Bowling Green. Campbellsville University is a private, comprehensive institution located in South Central Kentucky. Founded in 1906, Campbellsville University is affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention and has an enrollment of 2,405 students who represent 98 Kentucky counties, 25 states and 36 foreign nations. Listed in U.S.News & World Report's 2009 "America's Best Colleges," CU is ranked 22nd in "Best Baccalaureate Colleges" in the South for the second consecutive year. CU has been ranked 16 consecutive years with U.S.News & World Report. The university has also been named to America's Best Christian Colleges(R). Campbellsville University is located 82 miles southwest of Lexington, Ky., and 80 miles southeast of Louisville, Ky. Dr. Michael V. Carter is in his tenth year as president.
