ACHS Girls Golf team ties Green Co., 179-179 Girls Golf Schedule with team photo ColumbiaMagazine.com SPORTS Lauren Goodin's 39 ties with Green's Kate Larrimore for best score of meet; Indians play at Ft. Knox, KY By Kimberly Goodin, ACHS Girls Golf Coach The team improved from their performance against Green Co. last year in play yesterday, August 14, 2008, at Pinewood Country Club, with a 179-179 tie, a far different story from 2007, whn Green Co. beat Adair County twice in match play--by 10 strokes and 14 strokes. As coach, I felt good to get a tie since they are probably considered the 2nd best team in our region behind Glasgow. As long as we continue to compete and improve it is hard to complain, but naturally a stroke here or there and we win. I guess they could say that as well. Lauren Goodin and Kate Larrimore went back and forth through the match, but each shot 39's,making their match all square. Natalie Sneed's shot 43, defeating her opponent, Olivia Parrott, by 7 strokes. Ashley Goodin won her match by one shot defeating Cassidy Scantland 45 to 46. Royse shot under her average with 52 but faced a tough opponent in Sydney Smith who shot a 44. Abby Royse shot a 51, Dea Brandon a 55, and Natalie Curry finished with a 58. Rachel Phipps completed the team for Adair. Adair plays Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Lindsey Golf Course in Ft. Knox, KY, at the Lady Bruin Invitational. Shot gun start is at 11:30amCT. They will be back in action at home at Pinewood Country Club against Washington County and Marion County on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at 3:30pmCT. This story was posted on 2008-08-15 06:25:02
