ACHS Girls Golf Team finishes 7th of 14 in Russellville Girls Golf Schedule ColumbiaMagazine.com SPORTS By Kim Goodin The ACHS Girls' Golf team opened their season this past weekend at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Russellville, KY. The team posted a 386 with Lauren Goodin shooting an 82, Ashley Goodin 94, Natalie Sneed 99, Natalie Curry 111, and Emilee Royse shot 116. Lauren tied for sixth place but lost in a scorecard playoff to Laura Beth Harris from Glasgow. Glasgow posted the winning team score with a 338. Russell County was runner-up with a 358. Adair Co. finished 7th overall out of 14 teams. The winning individual was Kelsey Burrell from Franklin Simpson with a 75. Kate Larimore of Green Co. was runner-up with a 77. Our scores ran higher than I thought they would, but it was extremelyhot and three of our kids had never been on that course. I felt like the heat fatigued us a little because we have only walked nine holes in practice and this tournament was a complete 18 holes.Russellville is is where the Regional tournament will be played so hopefully they will shoot better in September. We travel to Pulaski County to play in their invitational this coming weekend so hopefully we will improve on our score from last year over there. We shot a 386 at that tournament last year which was identical to our first tournament this year. Thanks for your coverage of girls' golf and we appreciate all the school and community support that we receive. People are constantly telling me how they enjoy reading the sories about the golf team.
