Columbia Rotary Club logs 307 miles in July, 2008

Goal is to "Walk Around the World" in one year
Healthcare

By Hunter Durham, President of Columbia Rotary Club

In July, 2008, the Columbia Rotary Club and friends walked a total of 307 miles which took them to Memphis, Tennessee by the road map. As the crow flies, the club's walk also equalled the distance to Lifton, GA, just below Atlanta.Measurements of familiar trails:
  • 1 mile=5 times around the Columbia Square on sidewalk
  • 1 mile=2 times around the Adair County Fairgrounds Park
  • 1 mile=2 times around the track at Christian Life Center
  • 1 mile=4 times around the track behind the John Adair Intermediate School
  • 1 mile= 20 minutes of vigorous exercise, including bicycling
Soon, there will be cards and deposit places in each of the banks in Columbia and in the Adair County Public Library for everyone to help Columbia Rotary "Walk around the World."

Get out and walk.

We have already had accounts of individuals who have not exercised beginning to walk.

Send in your totals to: rotarywalk@gmail.Com
