Obituary: Eva Adamson, 73, Adair School District employee

She was a member of a large, respected Adair County family. She will be warmly remembered for her 28 year career in food service with the Adair County School District, most recently at Adair County Elementary School

Eva Adamson, age 73 years of 140 Cecil Blair Road, Columbia, KY(the New Concord Community) passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at the Springview Hospital in Lebanon, KY after an illness.

The funeral service will be Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Rick Neff & Bro. Stanley Watson the officiating clergy.


She was the daughter of the late Levi and Maude Brown Knight of Russell County, Kentucky.

Mrs. Adamson was preceded in death by her husband: Junior Adamson on May 17, 2000.

Survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Sheila Carter and husband Bo of Cambridge, OH

  • Four sons: Kenneth Adamson and wife Kathleen of Cecilia, KY; Jerry Adamson and wife Denise of Columbia, KY; Walter "Waldo" Adamson and wife Jackie of Russell Springs, KY; Ricky Adamson and wife Tammy of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Pearl Popplewell of Russell Springs, KY; Linda Garrison of Justice, IL

  • Also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren
Mrs. Adamson was employed by the Adair County School System for 28 years as a cook at John Adair Elementary School. She made her profession of faithseveral years ago.

Interment will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery, Liberty Road, Columbia, KY.

The family requests visiting after 4:00pmCT on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY.
