Obituary: Geneva M. Brown, 76, Adair Co., KY

Mrs. Brown was a member of Hutchison Community Church and a much respected Adair County family and a homemaker

Geneva M. Brown, 76, 723 Mack Street, Columbia, KY, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 17, at 4:25am, at her home.

The funeral service is Saturday, July 19, 2008, at 1:00pm at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST., Columbia, KY, with Rev. Elbert Hadley and Rev. Lewis Burton the officiating clergy.



She was born May 20, 1932, in Adair County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late George and Sophia Petty Janes of Adair County, KY.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Calvin C. Brown, and the following:
  • One son: Larry Brown and wife Devon, Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Sharon Garmon and husband Phillip, Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Avin Janes and Kenneth Janes, both of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Jean Bailey, Bloomfield, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Renee Kemp, Cameron (Alicia) garmon, and Nick (Amanda) Brown

  • Four great grandchildren: Amber Kemp, Tyler Kemp, Halle Brown, and Kailey Garmon
  • And several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends
  • Mrs. Brown attended the Hutchison Community Church and was a homemaker.

    The family requests visiting after 3:00pmCT, Friday, July 18, 2008, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

    Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangments.
