Larry Smith: Epiphany on Moss Road, Taylor Co.

2008-07-13 - Moss Ridge Road, Taylor Co. KY - Photo By Larry Smith.
The date recorded in Larry Smith's Nikon D 70, a serious piece of equipment, says this photo was taken in the winter of 2006, on February 2, 2006, at 5:21:46pmET. It is a perfect double rainbow frame of a landmark Taylor County tree. Moss Road is off Highway 210, north of Campbellsville. Mr. Smith, the news anchor for WHVE the Wave, 92.7 radio, said a key to getting this one in a billion shot is that he always carries his camera with him, and takes thousands of pictures. "Along the way," he says, "you seem to get a sense of timing and composition," he said. "that with a good bit of pure luck make a capture like this one possible." Yum! Adair County blueberries are in

2008-07-13 - Somewhere in Adair Co., KY - Photo By Old Coddger.
"I have 5 blueberry bushes and looks like I need to pick some this afternoon. Hope I can get at least a half-gallon today of the really ripe ones," writes The OC, who wisely doesn't tell any of the rest of us birds where his secret stash is located. Blueberries are becoming a great cash crop for growers in this area, where the pH of the same soil which lets cedars and sedge grass proliferate is just right for blueberries.Flickr.
