Photo from the Past: Before he was Ol' & James Ray

2008-07-08 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo From the collection of Joe L. Barbee.
THIS A A FAVORITE PHOTO from years ago in downtown Columbia, part of the collection of Joe L. Barbee. He's on the right, in the dark classes, cowboy hat, and oil drillers shirt. He and James Ray Hammonds have barely changed since that time, but the cars have, and the H&R Block building is gone. It was in the building which originally housed the Dr. M.C. Loy Clinic, later moved to Jamestown Street, to a building Dr. Loy built, Dr. Phil Aaron later bought, and which how houses the Westlake Primary Care. The time is probably after Judge R.L. Walker built the Adair County Courthouse annex. Any fu'ther elucidation will be greatly appreciated. Whatever happened to these two? They're both still around, doing about the same. Both popular and well known. Joe Lynn Barbee is now the Colonel Harland Sanders of the barbecue business, and his likeness, and only his likeness, is on Ol' Joe's Sauces & Rubs.Clicking Read More accesses the Today, Tuesday, July 8, 2008 feature
