Roads, Travel

Adair County Road Department maintenance report, Continuing work: The Adair County Road Department is now constructing a 300 ft. retaining wall on the bank of Crocus Creek at Inroad to shore up the Melson Ridge Road from Inroad to Cundiff, Melson Ridge, in District 3 of Adair County. The project is expected to take 45 days. Work started Monday, June 16, 2008. The project is being built with a $92,000 emergency grant from then Gov. Ernie Fletcher. It is the largest stream erosion project in all of Adair County Road Department history, and the largest in recent history since the Yuma Road Project in the last year of the Jerry Vaughan administration. Our family is particularly fond of them, maybe because, en masse, cast overall is pale Chelf blue, (somewhat lighter than above), the unofficial national color of our tribe. Neatly packed on a semi-trailer on Sunday, June 6, 2008 tomorrow these six baby elephants and funny clown holding a giant umbrella will be set up on the giant Adair County Fair Grounds midway for lots of happy kiddies to ride. Rides and booths flowed through town all day to line up in the staging area in the parking lot of the Adair County Fairgrounds, which many years ago served as a streetside midway.
