First & Farmers National Bank gives $10,000 to LWC fund drive F&FBN President Ann Martin is 1975 graduate; son is 2005 graduate PHOTO By Duane Bonifer, LWC Director of Public Affairs First & Farmers National Bank of Columbia believes that higher education is one of the keys in building a strong Columbia-Adair County. And on Monday, the bank demonstrated that by making a $10,000 donation to the Lindsey Wilson Adair County Fund Drive. The gift will be used to support Adair County residents who attend the college. Almost 300 Adair County residents attended Lindsey Wilson during the 2007-08 school year. "Lindsey Wilson is one of Adair County's greatest assets, so we are pleased to support the Lindsey Wilson Adair County Fund Drive with this gift," said First & Farmers National Bank President Ann Martin. "Our community is blessed to have Lindsey Wilson because it adds a great deal to our region's economy and quality of life." Martin knows firsthand the value of a Lindsey Wilson education. She is a 1975 graduate of the college; and her son Ross is a 2005 Lindsey Wilson graduate who is currently enrolled dental school at the University of Louisville. "Lindsey Wilson opens up so many wonderful opportunities to our citizens that they otherwise would not have," Martin said. And Lindsey Wilson officials say they are thankful for First & Farmers National Bank."A big reason Lindsey Wilson is undergoing a $12 million expansion is because of the incredible level support this college continues to receive from area businesses such as First & Farmers National Bank," said Lindsey Wilson President William T. Luckey Jr. This story was posted on 2008-07-01 05:33:39
