Scenic Kentucky: Nighttime Louisville Skyline, by Greg Thomas

2008-06-30 - Louisville, KY Skyline from Star of Louisville yacht - Photo By Greg Thomas, Thomas Photography, Columbia, KY.
COLUMBIA PHOTOGRAPHER GREG THOMAS, owner of Thomas Photography, captured this incredibly beautiful photo of the nighttime Louisville skyline, and writes, "Here's a picture of Downtown Louisville I shot this past Friday night, June 27, 2008, while I was up there on a job. You can see the skyline of downtown around the Galt House area. I took the picture off the Star of Louisville as we were coming back in for docking. The Star of Louisville is actually docked on the Jeffersonville, IN, side of the Ohio River. It's just under the I-65 bridge." Adair Countians are sure to note, too, the kinship of the lighted dome of the Commonwealth Building with that of world-famed Begley Chapel in Columbia.Clicking Read More accesses the "Today, Mon. June 30, 2008" feature and Today's Photo Album.

Adair Countians can do it!

2008-06-30 - Green River Lake, Adair County, KY - Photo By the boat owner.
AN ADAIR COUNTY FIRM PICKED UP THIS 20-TON HOUSEBOAT from a trailer which brought it to Green River Lake, cradled it it nylon straps, and transferred it to its launching trailing, with enough ease to take time out for the happy boat owner to snap this picture. B&B Crane of Columbia's trained operators, Juan Barradas, in the white hat, and Joe L. Barbee, the one the black hat and denims on the right, made the transfer to a launching trailer owned by Sammy Robertson of Taylor County in lat March of 2008. The houseboat is now harbored at Green River Marina, owned by Dennis Brinley the demolition master who so deftly razed the Old Ice House to make way for the Adair County Enhanced 911 Building.
