A brief report on the Courier-Journal.com reports work on Wolf Creek Dam was halted because of a concern over faster settling in an area of the earthen portion of the dam.

The work halt may at least a temporary ripple effect on employment here. Several of the workforce involved are residents of Adair County and much of the concrete for the project has been supplied by a local firm. However, the Corps, according, according to the CJ story, does not see the concern as a major risk to the project.
