Obituary: Janet S. Powell dies in Louisville, KY Mrs. Powell was a a native of Adair County. She was retired after a career with the Department of Juvenile Justice. The funeral and burial will be in Jefferson County, KY COLUMBIAMAGAZINE.COM OBITUARIES Janet S. Powell, 66, of Louisville, KY, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, in Louisville, KY, after an illness. The funeral service will be Monday, June 23, 2008, at 12noonET, at Highlands Funeral Home in Louisville, with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. A native of Adair County, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Logsdon Janes and retired from the Department of Juvenile Justice. She is survived by her husband, Claude Powell, Louisville, KY, and the following:
