June Dairy month event at Rowe Farms, June 19, 2008

Adair County is No. 2 Dairy County in the State of Kentucky

By Teresa Bright, Adair Co. Extension Service

June is the time of year to pay tribute to those who provide us with one of our most valuable food sources: Milk.

Today's dairy producer works countless hours to provide our country with a safe and adequate supply of milk and milk products. Adair County ranks second in the state in overall milk produced, behind Barren County.

Adair County is the home of 55 dairy farms.
