Joseph E. Sparks re-elected trustee at Duo-Co 2008 meeting

Duo County Telephone Cooperative members began filing through the doors of Russell County High School on Tuesday night June 10th, for the 2008 Duo County Telephone Annual Meeting.

Duo County members rapidly filled the air-conditioned gymnasium and received a welcoming gift coffee mug. Popcorn and drink in hand, members and their guests were eager to hear about Duo Countys new packages and promotions, as well as what technological advances the company will be making throughout the year.



The Cooperatives Legal Counsel, H.K. Cooper had the pleasure of calling the 2008 Annual Meeting to order in front of 460 excited Duo County members and their guests. After the introduction of Duo Countys Trustees, CEO Bill Magruder updated the audience with the executive report, followed by the re-election of trustees James E. Monin of Jamestown and Joseph E. Sparks of Adair County, Old Business and New Business.

Following an announcement of Annual Meeting night specials, such as Duo Countys Triple Play Bundle, which includes cable, Internet and telephone, Eric West, Duo County Director of Marketing, and a young lady from the audience began drawing members names for door prizes.

The winners are: $100.00 Special Drawing, Rhonda Corbin; Cell phone and three months free service with Bluegrass Cellular, Kevin Johnson; Dell 20 Flat Panel Computer, Connie Lawless; Toshiba 32 Flat Panel TV, Donnie Gilbert/Higher Praise Church;Oreck Electric Broom, Rose Bradshaw, Regina Hinton; $75.00 Duo County Gift Certificate, Kathy Johnson, Rachel Pike; Easy Roller Lawn Cart, Juanita Passmore, Bernice Gaskin; Sylvania DVD Recorder/VHS, Doug Capps, Sharon Hill; Werner 9 Platform Ladder, Larry Miller, Doris Leveridge; Poulan Gas Weed Eater, Deanie Popplewell, Mildred Bradshaw; Kenmore Outdoor Electric Smoker, Mary Roy, Diana Reece.
