Wal-Mart is having Teacher Appreciation event June 6, 2008

Remember, Adair County School District classrooms' opening day is not far away.

The local Wal-Mart Store will have a free Teacher Appreciation Event on Friday, June 6, 2008, from 10:00am to 11:00amCT at the store, located at 809 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY.

"Because of all teachers do, our Wal-Mart Store wants to show appreciation with cake and drinks and a free tool kit for each teacher to use in their classrooms," Glenna Rooks said.



The kit contains a pen and pencils, a color marker, Tissues, and other items teachers need every day.

Any teacher is welcome, including but not limited to those in the Adair County, Glenna Rooks said.The local Wal-Mart Store, under the management of Danny Bragg, will be moving to the new Wal-Mart Super Center in Holladay Place in a few months.

Latest construction reports are that the building is six weeks ahead of schedule and could be opened earlier than the previous target date of October 1, 2008.

Adair County School District teachers return on August 6, with students' first day on August 7, 2008.
