    Scenic Adair County: The best ever year for honeysuckle

    The FIRST DAY of JUNE 2008 was the day of the most honeysuckle. At several points along KY 206 solid blankets of the bright, fragant flowers blanketed fencerows, provided tents for trees and farm implements, solid backdrops for other darker flowers and greenery. The roadway above is between the Bob White and Kay Bowman showplaces on Liberty Road, near radio station WAIN, looking north, toward Garlin.

    Manor Abbey, Downtown 216 Public Square, Columbia, KY

    HAYDEN NEAL Libby and Billy Joe Fudge's grandson, joined them in front of the newly opened Manor Abbey art gallery located the corner southwest corner of Columbia's Square. The western scene in the window is part of a major genre of the store's catalog, which features many horse, Western, and native American themes. With the store's occupancy, only the old Firestone building on the corner of Burkesville and the Public Square is vacant on the ground level in the SW quadrant of the Square.

Above, another scoop is headed for the first of the waiting Taylor Services containers at the site. The building and lot are owned by Dr. Max and Patricia Downey, whose clinic is next door.
