Birds of Kentucky: Where did the hummingbirds go? George Rice, the Egyptian ornithologist on KY 551, the Knifley Road, says he's concerned about his hummingbirds, and wonders if anyone else can help solve the mystery. "They were here for awhile before the last frost," he says, "then they were gone." Fellow hummingbird friend Mary Coomer reported 10-12 at her feeders before the cold snap, then none except for one scouter who has been back. He's hoping others will offer any intelligence on the birds' whereabouts, This story was posted on 2008-05-19 07:48:30
