Scenic Adair Co.: Tulip poplar in bloom Tabor Community

2008-05-19 - Tabor Community on KY 704, Adair Co., KY - Photo By Tony Harvey. STATE TREE Tony Harvey captured this photo of a gorgeous Tulip Poplar, Kentucky's state tree, in full bloom in bloom in his backyard in the Tabor Community just south of Columbia on Scenic Highway 704. "All the previous years we've been here," he writes, "frost has kept them from blooming." But this morning, Monday, May 19, 2008, the tree is full of the blossoms. From this distance, the tree is beautiful, but the brilliant green leaves subdue the impact of the flowers.
