A PORTRAIT of CHARLIE

All's well that ends well. This is a happy ending, and Nina Wood is a hero.

Jan Hadley called at 1:13pm today to report that her missing dog, Charlie, is now back home. "It took less than one hour," she said. "We want to thank Nina Wood, who had adopted him at Green River Animal Shelter, but returned him to us immediately when she saw him on ColumbiaMagazine.com."

Mrs. Hadley said that Nina Wood said she opened up ColumbiaMagazine and looked in the eyes of the dog and recognized him as the dog she was calling "Lucky."

"She said she looked at the yellow lab and said, 'Are you Charlie,' and she said Charlie ran right to her," Mrs. Hadley said. "She called me, and said, 'I think I've got your dog.' After I identified Charlie's short tail, she agreed it was Charlie."
