McCammish plant recycling with Adair Recycling Center Reminder, too, that Recycle 101 is tomorrow, Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 10:00am at the Adair County Extension office. The special seminar is a collaborative effort of Kelli Bonifer, Barbara Armitage, and A.L. Sinclair. By Ed Waggener "We have a major new recycler to add to the list! McCammish Manufacturing Co., Columbia Division, effective today," Lisa Lee, Administrative Assistant to Adair County CJE Ann Melton announced this morning. "We want to thank Mr. Doug McCammish, manager of the Columbia Division of McCammish Mfg.," she said. Lisa Lee said that McCammish Mfg. Columbia Division will now receive regular pickups by the Adair County Recycling Center. "We pick up the wastes to help the businesses," she said. "That should help them. In turn, we sell the recyclables and that helps the county," she said. Businesses which are not active participants can get more information about pickup service by calling the office of Adair County Judge Ann Melton at (270) 384-4703 or Solid Waste Coordinator A.L. Sinclair at (270) 384-3738 at the Adair Recycling Center, 62 Service Road, Columbia, KY. Or, especially individuals, contact Barbara Armitage of the Adair County Garden Club, (270) 250-2979 for advice on reducing household trash going to the landfill and tips on composting, gardening, lowering food costs, and energy savings. REMINDER: Recycle 101 to be offered at Adair Extension Office EVENTS Barbara Armitage of the Garden Club and Kelli Bonifer of the Adair County Extension Service and and are collaborating to offer Recycle 101 on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 10:00amCT. A guest lecturer will be famed Kentucky environmentalist A.L. Sinclair. The course will train those who attend the ABC's of Recycling. The purpose of the course is to train Adair County more about living responsibly by recycling and reducing energy use. It will wrap up the Earth Day celebrations in April. The course is designed to train trainers who will in turn train neighbors until everyone in Adair County is a recycler.
