Together again: Jim Caywood & Maximus, alias Maxi WANTED POSTER Believe Jim Caywood's idea if you like. He's a big man and it will probably stand, though we have another notion. In either case, this latest chapter in the biographer of Maximus, alias Maxi has ended happily. Maxi is no longer at large. We posted this classified, along with a Wanted Poster of Maximus, alias Maxi, this morning, Monday, April 28, 2008, for Jim. It read: Have you seen Maximus?A little while ago we got this note from Jim, "Ed, Guess who showed up like nothing had happened at 8:30am? I guess he is old enough to have a girl friend." We can call off the search. Our notion: Maximus alias Maxi, came home when he learned there were wanted posters out on him on the internet. It's just a theory, so there's no way Donnie Melson can have us arrested for lying on the internet, a serious, serious crime in Adair County. We're not saying Maxi can go online all by himself. Scant few dogs are regular readers of ColumbiaMagazine.com. But it isn't it reasonable that this great dog, obviously more intelligent than some humans we know, saw his picture on the internet, read the message, and returned before Jim Caywood had a conniption fit? Regardless, it's great that Maximus is back, at least for the time being, whether the www played a role or not. -EW This story was posted on 2008-04-28 12:05:14
