Honors ceremonies Founders Day at Lindsey Wilson College

Rebekkah Woody, Sean Hitchcock, Allysa Gooden, Larry Ennis, Daniel III Phillips, Gary Gibson, and Bruce Harris recognized at Founders' Day event

Recognition was given to several students and faculty members at the Honors Convocation during Founders' Day activities at Lindsey Wilson College on Thursday, April 24, 2008.They are as follows:


  • Best Overall of Orpheus, Short Fiction Award: was presented to senior Rebekkah Woody, Columbia, KY, by Professor of English Tim McAlpine.

  • Outstanding Achievement, Student Publications Award: was presented to senior Sean Hitchcock of Columbia, KY, by Assistant Professor of Journalism Thomas Winski.

  • Outstanding Academic Achievement: Communication: was presented to Sean Hitchcock by Associate Professor of Communication Jerry Thomas.

  • Outstanding Academic Achievement: Human Services & Counseling: was presented to Allysa Gooden by Associate Professor of Human Services Angelia Bryant

  • Outstanding Academic Achievement: P-5 Elementary Education: was awarded to Laramie Pelston by Associate Professor of Education Larry Ennis

  • The Exemplary Teaching Award: was presented to Associate Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice Daniel III Phillips by LWC Vice President of Academic Affairs Bettie Starr. The award is given annually by the General Board of Higher Education & Ministry of The United Methodist Church

  • Adviser of the Year: went to Associate Professor of Accounting Gary Gibson.

  • President's Award: Bruce Harris of La Center, KY, was presented the award by President William T. Luckey, Jr.
