Obituary: Beulah Rich, 80, member Barnett's Creek UMC

She was the matriarch of a large, highly respected Northeastern Adair County family, a treasured member of her church, and a homemaker

Beulah Kathleen Rich, 80, 1975 Barnett's Creek Road, Columbia, KY, (the Barnett's Creek Community) passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008, at 8:50am, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY, after an illness.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at 1:00pmCT, at the Barnett's Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Troy Long and Rev. Gene Weddle the officiating clergy. The family requests visiting after 4:00pmCT on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.



She was born August 21, 1927, the daughter of the late Virgil and Ida Sapp Blair of Adair County, KY.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Rich, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Rita Yates and her husband Joe, Springfield, KY; and Patricia Farris and husband Jimmy, Mt. Sterling, KY

  • Three sons: Mike Rich and wife Debbie, Lexington, KY: Kevin Rich and wife Lesa, Canton, GA; and Bryan Rich and wife Alma, Columbia, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: Freddy Rowe, Chris Rowe, Brad Farris, Lindsey Rich, Ashley Rich, Darby Rich, Dixie Rich, Will Rich, and Luke Rich

  • One great grandson: William Rowe

  • Two step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends
Mrs. Rich was a member of the Barnett's Creek United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Barnett's Creek Cemetery Fund, c/o Rhonda Beck, PO Box 394, Columbia, KY, or may be left at the funeral home.
