Adair/Casey Drug Court Pop Tab Drive underway

By Megan LongCase Specialist for the Adair/Casey County Drug Court

The Adair/Casey County Drug Court were the Pop Tab Champs last year, donating 1,337 pounds! Your pop tab donations this year will help us to uphold this great honor as we start the drive again this year.

The Adair/Casey Drug Court will be delivering this year's pop tabs to the Ronald McDonald House on May 12, 2008; so please call our office at (270) 384-1083 or (606) 787-0695 and we will make arrangements for your pop tabs to be picked up at your convenience.

About the drive

Each year, Drug Courts across the state collect aluminum pop tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House in Lexington.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities then sell the pop tabs and place the proceeds from them into a designated fund for families to use while they have seriously ill children in nearby hospitals.

The Ronald McDonald House provides a "home away from home" for these families, covering the cost of personal items that perhaps they cannot afford while dealing with their child's medical problems.

Often times, children are rushed to emergency rooms and families do not have time to prepare for an extended stay.

Please take a moment to donate your pop tabs; it only takes a second of your time and the benefits are the reward of a lifetime.
