It was an earthquake, all right. Word of mouth report of Tv station saying there was an earthquake, centered near Evansville; we'll probably hear about it on news reports today.
At 5:12am, Tom Waggener, who hadn't read Tony Harvey's message, called to ask if we had felt the earthquake. He had been awakened by it at his home on Main Street in Shelbyville, thinking at first that it was a train. "But the train doesn't shake things that much," he said. "Then I thought it might be someone shaking the door." He checked. It was that. Tom says it's on the news now. He's heard through Teresa's folks that it was a 5.4 earthquake centered a little west of Evansville, IN. Though it is possible that what the relatives heard was that the news cast mentioned the possibility of a 5.4 earthquake.
Didn't find any report on Google at 5:22am about the Earthquake in Evansville. But there is a KET video online about the threat of earthquakes in Kentucky. Click
