LWC women's golf team wins Brescia Spring Invitational By Chris Wells, LWC Sports Information Director OWENSBORO, KY -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team captured the Brescia (KY) University Spring Invitational today at Ben Hawes State Park. The Blue Raiders shot a spring-low 309 today to win their third tournament of the spring and sixth of the season. Lindsey Wilson finished with a two-day total of 630 (321-309) to beat its nearest competitor by 57 strokes. Bellarmine (KY) University finished second with a team-total of 687 (347-340) and Campbellsville (KY) University finished third with a 693 (345-348). Host Brescia finished fourth with a 738 (367-371) over the 5,906 yard, par 72 layout.Lindsey Wilson sophomore Jessica Smith won her second straight individual title with a two-day total of 155 (81-74).The Louisville native led five Blue Raiders on the seven-person all-tournament team.Lindsey Wilson senior Jessica Robertson finished second with a 157 (81-76) and senior Beth Cooper (84-76) and sophomore Krista Burton (77-83) tied for fourth with a 160. Sophomore Cheslee Elkins finished sixth with a 165 (82-83).Bellarmine's Sarah Duplessis finished third following a 159 (78-81).Junior Aline Decker finished in a tie for seventh with a two-day total of 168 (86-82) and freshman Chelsey Key ended in 13th with a 175 (86-87).
