Adair photographers urged to enter Redbud Trails 2008 Contest The Southern and Eastern Kentucky Tourism Development Association has announced its "We're in the Pink" Redbuds Trails 2008 Photography Contest, which was spotted by Vonnie Kolbenschlag, who wrote, "There are many good photographers in our midst and I think there is a good chance someone may win some $$."There are, indeed, some great photographers in Adair County, many of whom regularly contribute to ColumbiaMagazine.com. Eligibility All entrants must be residents in one of the following southern and eastern Kentucky counties and must be amateur photographers. Adair, Bath, Bell, Boyd, Boyle, Breathitt, Casey, Clay, Clinton, Cumberland, Estill, Floyd, Garrard, Green, Greenup, Harlan, Jackson, Jessamine, Johnson, Knott, Knox, Laurel, Lawrence, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Lincoln, Madison, Magoffin, Martin, McCreary, Menifee, Metcalfe, Monroe, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike, Powell, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Rowan, Russell, Taylor, Wayne, Whitley and Wolfe Counties. Contest guidelines Photographs submitted to the contest must be only those taken by the contestant. Submission of someone else's photo is not acceptable. Photographs taken by digital camera or standard camera will be accepted. Photos may only include humans if submitted with a photography release form which may be obtained from the SEKTDA office (If permission is not granted, photo will not be accepted). Pictures displaying copyright notices, date marks or other written information, as well as pictures with advertisements, will not be accepted. Pornography or images close to pornography, pictures showing violence, etc., and/or pictures that might violate law will not be accepted. Appropriate content is at the discretion of TOUR SEKY. Images must be full color and contain an entire Redbud Tree, blossom or branch in the image somewhere.ALL pictures and images will become the sole property of TOUR SEKY to use in any and/or all media formats and informational printing. All entrants will be required to authorize the contest organizer in writing to reproduce the photographs. TOUR SEKY will require all entry images to be submitted in a minimum 300-600 dpi and must be on a CD. Those not submitted in proper dpi resolution or on a CD will not be considered. To be considered, images on a CD must be mailed (not e-mailed) to: TOUR SEKY, Attn: Jeff Crowe, 2292 South Hwy 27, Somerset, KY 42501 Entries must be submitted on a 4x6 postcard attached to each entry with the following information provided:
In the event that entries do not meet the above outlined guidelines and are not of the quality required to produce Redbud Month public awareness printed materials to the contest organizer's specifications, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the contest without declaring any winners. This right shall also be exercised in the event that circumstances occur beyond the organizer's control that would warrant such action. Contest rules may be modified at the organizer's discretion. If modifications occur, they will be posted on the www.tourseky.net web site. There will be a $300.00 first place award, a $150.00 second place award and a $100.00 third place award presented. Winners will be chosen from all entries meeting the criteria listed above.*CDs must accompany each entry to be eligible. All entries must be submitted by April 30, 2008.
