Lindsey Wilson Men's Track & Field Fourth at Berea COLUMBIAMAGAZINE.COM SPORTS By Chris Wells, LWC Sports Information Director BEREA, KY -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's track & field team opened their outdoor season on Saturday with a fourth place finished at the Berea (KY) College Invitational. The Blue Raider men recorded 89 points in the seven-team field. Host Berea won the event with 195 points followed by Centre (KY) College's 187 points and Huntington (IN) University's 165 points. Lindsey Wilson senior Zanman Graham led the Blue Raiders with a first and second place finish. Graham won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.93 seconds and fished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.33 seconds. Freshman Hezekiah Weiss captured the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.23 to earn the Blue Raiders 10 points. Junior Koji Hashiyama secured 14 points with his second place finish in the 10,000-meter run (33:57.81) and a third place finish in the 5,000-meter run (16:21.34). Senior Cody Brooks added 11 points over three events. Brooks finished fourth in the hammer throw, fifth in the discus and seventh in the shot put. Freshmen Brad Bilbri, Christopher Kipchirchir, Silas Kosey and Jerome Thomas helped the Blue Raiders secure 10 points toward the team total with their first place finish in the 4x800-meter relay. The quartet's time of 8:34.10 was less than a second off the school record of 8:33.66 set two seasons ago.The Blue Raiders return to action on March 21, as Lindsey Wilson travels to the Emory (GA) University Classic in Atlanta.
