Feedback: On the Flowers-Moss House in Gradyville, KY

Editor, CM

That daughter's son was James Moss, wife Pauline Moss, the third and last generation of family members to live in the house. Pauline died in 1991, and her daughter Nancy sold the house to us.

Rollin Keltner, Jim's Dad, lived in 2 frame houses in Gradyville, KY.

One is on KY 80 and the corner of Brock Burris Road. It'srecently renovated and looks nice. Rolln Keltner built that house, not I'm not sure when; I think Jim (James Howard Keltner, writer's late husband) was a baby when he lived there.

The Rollin Keltner family then moved to a larger property on the right just after you go across the bridge on Big Creek at 80. They lived there until about the early 70's, when they were getting frail and Jim moved them into town.

It was the first time they had had indoor plumbing, including running water. Jim's Mother's greatest joy was taking baths and using the washing machine!

That's about it. Am thinking of healthy nutritious recipes with local ingredients...getting hungry!

Mary Keltner

Thanks. The reference to the house has been corrected. And a note on Mary Keltner's last comment. She's a registered nurse, and is strongly considering writing a recipe column for healthy meals made mostly from Adair County food grown close to home. -EW
