  • 9-1-1 Tower; Drywall installation ready to start

2008-03-13 - Adair 9-1-1 Dispatch Center - Photo By Ed Waggener.
DRYWALL INSTALLER JEFF BRYANT, left, made notes with Mike Newton of Mi-Di Construction Company on the sheetrock installation could start as early as today, Thursday, March 13, 2008. Bryant deliver a load of materials to the site yesterday, Wednesday, March 12, 2008, when this picture was taken. Both men said their companies would go beyond the letter of the building specifications to give the county a nice building. Bryant said he's sometimes fussed at for being too particular, "But that's the way I am," he said, "I want to do a perfect job, especially on this building." Mike Newton said that he and co-owner Dicky Walker were adding touches beyond the specs as well. "We're putting in a better grade of carpet, we putting tile in the bathrooms, and we're landscaping," Newton said. "None of that was in the specs."

Oreo is ready to take over your heart and your home

2008-03-13 - Green River Animal Shelter - Photo By Heather Evans.
Good news. 2008-03-28: Oreo is being adopted and is no longer available
OREO MAY BE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ON YOUR LUNCH HOUR. He is a younger adult cat, black and white and longhair. He is a male cat and neutered. He has some shaved spots at this time because he was badly matted, but the hair will grow back into a beautiful coat. He would make someone a great pet, and in return he would like to be brushed on a regular basis to prevent mats. His name is Oreo. He's available for adoption now at Green River Animal Shelter. A Puppy, Dog, Kitten or Cat Just for You Is Waiting at Green River Animal Shelter, 455 Jim Blair Road (take Appleby Drive off KY 55 at Columbia Church of Nazarene; Jim Blair Road goes around Adair Youth Development Center), Columbia, KY. Phone 270-385-9655.
