Green River Animal Shelter report to AC Fiscal Court Feb. 2008

February 2008 statistics reported to Adair Fiscal Court

Aided by heavy rescues, the Green River Animal Shelter was able to keep euthanizations in February 2008 below 50%. Still 86 animals were put to sleep, accounting for 46% of the total leaving the shelter in the month:


  1. Euthanizations, 86 animals=46% of total
  2. Animals to Rescue, 58 animals=31% of total
  3. Adoptions, 43 animals=23% of total
Most animals came from Adair County

Most of the animals received were from Adair and walk-ins with Metcalfe second and Russell third in total numbers of animals received at the shelter in February 2008. The totals for individual counties were:
  1. Adair and walkin 91 total dogs and cats
  2. Metcalfe County, 58 dogs and cats
  3. Russell County, 54 dogs and cats
Dogs and puppies, as usual, comprised the largest number of animals taken in:
  1. Incoming Dogs/Puppies, 183
  2. Incoming Cats/Kittens, 20
Expenses $3,064.54
February expenses totaled $3,064.54, plus utilities, salaries, and vehicle. The G.R.A.S. does not include that total in its monthly report to the Adair Fiscal Court.

February Collections totaled $3,637.50

Individual receipt categories were as follows:
  1. Adoptions, $1,430.00
  2. Surrender fees, $430.00
  3. License fees, $00.00
  4. Donations, $1,717.50
  5. Rescue pull fee, $60.00
