Obituary: Richard Charles Wheeler, 64

Mr. Wheeler was the head of a large family. He leaves 33 living descendants. He was a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College and a retired factory worker.

Richard Charles Wheeler, 64, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, at University of Louisville Hospital.

He was born November 18, 1943, in Jeffersonville, IN, the son of N.S. and Mildred Wheeler. He lived in Fairplay, KY.


Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Debbie Lynn Wheeler of Fairplay and the following:
  • His siblings: William Eugene Wheeler, Mary Ellen Jackson, Sherry Lynn Mejis, and WIliam Dean Barrow

  • His children; Richard Charles Wheeler, Jr.; Carol Lorraine Patterson, Dana Lynn Wheeler, Ronnie Nathaniel Wheeler, Robert Paul Wheeler, Raymond Lee Wheeler, Darrell Wheeler, and Melissa McIntosh

  • And 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Jordan Scott Patterson and Emma Kate Patterson
  • And many nieces and nephews
  • He was a retired factory worker. He was a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, KY, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree.

    Mr. Wheeler's body was donated the University of Louisville School of Medicine to further the field of research.

    No memorial services are planned per his request.
