Applications for Dancing with Stars being taken at City Hall

It's now time for Renaissance Columbia's 2nd Annual "Dancing with the Stars" and on Saturday, June 7, entrants will have the opportunity to become Columbia's next "Dancing with the Stars" champions.

Those who wish to enter the contest can do so at Columbia City Hall from Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00am and 4pmCT and sign up for a spot in this year's show.



Renaissance Columbia (RC) will review all applications and an RC committee will choose 10 couples from among the applicants.

There will be a cash prize for 1st place of $1,000, and $500 for 2nd place, with awards for audience favorite and for most original costumes.

Applicants are asked not to worry about lack of dance skills. Local dance instructors will assist couples throught the next 10 to 12 weeks.

Applications should be picked up and submitted by Monday, March 10, 2008, or as soon as possible.
