16 LWC basketball, cheer and dance seniors honored Scroll to end of story for photos: Senior men, senior women, senior cheer groups By Duane Bonifer Saturday was the final home game for 16 student-athletes of Lindsey Wilson Colleges mens and womens basketball teams, and cheerleading and dance teams. The Blue Raiders hosted Georgetown (KY) College at Biggers Sports Center in a doubleheader that was both schools regular-season finales. The Blue Raiders came out on the losing end of both games.The Tiger women gained a season split, and the top-ranked Tiger men capped off a perfect regular season. In the opening game, the Georgetown women (20-9, 7-3 in the Mid-South Conference) shot 56.3 percent from the field to beat the Blue Raiders (20-10, 8-2) 89-77. The win gave the Tigers a split the two regular-season games against the Blue Raiders. Despite the loss, Lindsey Wilson, who is ranked No. 22 in the NAIA, claimed a share of the MSC regular-season title with the University of the Cumberlands (KY). The Blue Raiders were the 2006-07 MSC regular-season champs. The Blue Raiders are the top seed in next weeks MSC Tournament because they swept the season series against Cumberlands. Lindsey Wilson, who received a first-round bye, will open in the tournaments semifinals at noon CT on Sunday, March 9. The Blue Raiders will play the winner of the first-round game between No. 4-seed Campbellsville (KY) University and No. 5-seed West Virginia Tech. In the mens game, the No. 1-ranked Tigers (30-0, 10-0) capped a perfect regular season with an 89-77 win over the Blue Raiders, which also swept the regular-season games between the two teams. The Blue Raider men will be the No. 5-seed in the MSC Tournament next week and will play host and No. 4-seed Pikeville (KY) College on Saturday. The game begins at 3pmCT and can be heard on local radio. The winner will play No. 1-seed Georgetown at 7:00pmCT on Saturday. For more information about the MSC tournament, Click here.
