Unforgettable Elsa Lewis Bryant, maintained her vivacious beauty, her wonderful wit, her charm, and vitality all her 97 years of life. The picture above was taken at a party given just before her 95th birthday. Along with her beauty, she had a commanding, regal presence, and she knew it. Her name was "Elsa" and mispronunciation--"Elsie"--was sure to evoke a quick, gentle but firm, reprimand. Mrs. Bryant died Thursday, February 21, 2008, in Louisville after a short illness.
