KSP POST 15 ADVISORY: Roads are becoming slick and hazardous in the Post 15 area and we are starting to have reports of accidents,there is one injury accident on Ky 206 near the WAIN Radio Station. Also getting reports of vehicles in ditches. -H. SCHOLL. received at 9:44am, Thursday, February 21, 2008.


A MESSAGE FROM JUDGE ANN MELTON: Due to the extreme weather conditions from the freezing rain, I would like to advise everyone that unles it is an emergency to please say off the county roads. At this time we are not salting the county roads because of the extreme weather conditions with the ice on the roadways becuase the huge salt trucks do not travel well on ice. Also, with the current temperatures, the salt will not activate on the roadways. If anyone has an emergency and needs someone to come and pick them up, please contact my office and I will see that someone comes and picks them up. I will be in my office until 4:00pm today. You can call me at (270) 384-4703. After hours I can be reached by calling 911 Dispatch. Again, we urge Adair Countians to stay off all roads until conditions are safe again. Adair County Judge Ann Melton plans to send out county salt trucks at 12:30pmCT, barring any unforeseen difficulties

Adair County Court Clerk Sheila Blair's office in the Adair Annex is closed.

The Adair County Cooperative Extension Office is closing at 9:30amCT due to weather condition. The office will reopen on Friday at 8:00amCT. -TONY ROSE.

Adair County PVA Wm. (JR) Feese's office in the Adair County Courthouse is closed.

The Adair County Trash Transfer Station has closed for the day. (Per Pam Burton, Burton's Garbage Service.

The Adair County Water District office will be closing at 12:00 noon CT, today Thursday, February 21, 2008 because of the weather. We expect to be back on the regular schedule tomorrow. If anyone has a water emergency they can call our office (270) 384-2181 we have an emergency contact listed or contact (270) 634-3285. -Jennifer Carter.

Burton's Garbage Service has cancelled pickup for the rest of the day. "We will pick up Thursday's route tomorrow if the weather permits," Pam Burton said. The Transfer Station closed this morning.

Campbellsville University has cancelled afternoon and evening classes afternoon and evening classes, Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 due to the icy roads situation. -JOAN McKINNEY, Director of Campbellsville University communications.
