Over the next week you may notice a few changes at First National Bank of Columbia. The bank will be adopting a new name and logo as well as new corporate colors.

Effective February 19th, First National Bank of Columbia will be known as First & Farmers National Bank.

The bank has elected to embrace the colors of the American flag and the corporate logo of an eagle. The change comes as the bank consolidates operations with sister banks in Albany, Somerset, and Burkesville. "By combining our resources, we have so much more to offer our customers," Ann Martin, President of First National Bank said.

First National Bank is one of two banks which have been owned by Albany Bancorp, Inc. for several years. Albany Bancorp holding company also owns First & Farmers Bank, located in Albany and Somerset. The Bank of Cumberland, an affiliate bank of First National will also be included in the merger. The consolidation of the affiliate banks brings the organization's total assets to more than $426 million and expands the number of banking facilities.

"We are excited to now offer our customers the opportunity to bank with us at 12 different locations in Adair, Cumberland, Clinton, and Pulaski County," President Martin said. Customers may choose to bank at any First & Farmers National Bank locations with full access to all of their account information.

Beyond the addition of banking facilities, very little else will change as a result of the consolidation. "Local bankers will continue to serve customers in Columbia, loan decisions will continue to be made in Columbia, and the local staff will continue its commitment to serving the needs of our local community," Ann Martin said.
