Montgomery, 86, WWII veteran COLUMBIAMAGAZINE.COM OBITUARIES Mr. Montgomery was the head of a highly respected family, a retired merchant and farmer, a member of the Columbia Christian Church, and a US Army veteran of World War II James L. Montgomery, 86, 1484 Pelly Lane, Columbia, KY, died Saturday, February 16, 2006, at 8:19pmCT, at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at 1:00pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Terry White officiating. He was the son of the late Leslie and Sarah Thompson Montgomery, a member of the Columbia Christian Church, a US Army veteran of World War II, and was a retired merchant and farmer. Mr. Montgomery operated Montgomery Grocery for 17 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Keltner Montgomery, Columbia, KY, and the following:
Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery with military honors by Columbia VFW Post 6097. Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
