Adair Co. Boys beat Russell County 72-38

No. 25 ranked in the state, Coach Mark Fudge's team is now 23-4 on the season. Girls drop squeaker to Russell County, 46-45, and are now 11-12 on the season.

It was senior night Friday night at John Burr Memorial Gymnasium for the Adair County High School basketball teams and cheerleaders. A total of 14 students from the squad and two teams were honored during the Adair County-Russell County girls-boys basketball doubleheader.

In the girls' game, the Lady Lakers' Ashley Franklin hit the game's final shot to beat the Lady Indians 46-45. The loss dropped the Lady Indians to 11-12 on the season.



In the nightcap, the Adair County boys blistered the nets with 64 percent shooting from the field to easily cruise past the visiting Lakers 72-38 and improve their record to 23-4 on the season.

Adair County Boys now have two regular season games before the start of the 20th District tournament at Campbellsville when they play Taylor County at 7:30pm on February 27. Next up, the Indians play Bardstown at Bardstown on Tuesday, February 19, at 6:30pm. Then, on Friday, February 22, the boys play Hart County at Hart County at 5:30pm.

Adair County Girls will meet Casey County at Liberty on Monday, February 18, 2008, at 5:00pm. On February 22, 2008, they are on the same card as the boys, travelling to Hart County for a game with Hart County at 8:30pm. The girls start District 20 play at Taylor County when they play Taylor County at 8:00pm.

Nick Fudge draws a foul

ADAIR COUNTY'S NICK FUDGE is fouled by Russell County's Bryson McIll with 5:24 left in the first half. Fudge went to the free throw line and canned both free throws to expand the Indians' lead to 28-14. Adair County went on to win the game, 72-38, and improve to 23-4 on the season.
