Obituary: Eula Pyles, 87

A native of Ohio, Mrs. Pyles was the head of a large, respected Northeastern Adair County family. She leaves 46 living descendants. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom Campbellsville, KY

Eula Mae Pyles, 87, a resident of Summit Manor Health and Rehab, formerly of the Ella Community in Adair County, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at 8:30pm at Summit Manor in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Saturday, February 16, 2008, at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Scott Ezell the officiating clergy.



She was born November 4, 1920, the daughter of the late Herbert and Effie O. Bryant Grant of Ohio.

Mrs. Pyles was retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvia Kenneth Pyles in 1977.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Lyndall Pyles, Cookeville, TX; Terry Pyles, Amarillo, TX; and Jeffrey Pyles, Greensburg, KY

  • Six daughters: Bernadine Drake, Dunnville, KY; Katie Pyles, Elkhorn, KY; Patty Wong, Hanford, CA; Betty Kearney, Campbellsville, KY; Rita Smith, Columbia, KY; and Barbara Flatt, Columbia, KY

  • And 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cindy Rowe, on February 5, 2008.

The funeral service will be Saturday, February 16, 2008, at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Scott Ezell the officiating clergy.

The family requests visitation at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, on Friday, February 15, 2008, after 3:30pmCT.

Pallbearers will be Mark Blair, Darrell Flatt, Terry Flatt, Mark Franklin, Timmy Franklin, and Mike Rowe.

Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, Liberty Road, Columbia, KY.
